The case is important because different cases have different cooling solutions to help keep your computer running as smoothly as possible. If you don't plan on overclocking then a choice of cases may not be really important but overall I recommend Antec, they are known for making very good cases and PSU. I specifically recommend the Antec 900 if your looking into gaming and some OCing.

Its not to bad if everything works correctly, if things go wrong, then you could have a lot of work.

The only key to the case is good air flow. If you plan on overclocking the PC this is big deal. Mostly you want good air flow in the front and out the back. My Case was built so all the wires would all go into the side of the case (under the motherboard) nothing is there to block the air flow. Most higher end cases should have this kind of stuff.

Also make sure the fans are quite.
